WANDERING WHILE BLACK

CAUGHT BETWEEN FRAMES & FLAVORS

Wandering While Black is a record of what I saw, what I tasted, and what the world gave back.

TRAVEL • DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY • FOOD STORIES • BLACK PERSPECTIVE

Not just destinations. Not just pretty pictures. This is where travel becomes memory, food becomes language, and photography becomes proof that beauty, kindness, and belonging can still be found in unexpected places.

The Ethos

A cinematic record of Black travel and the space between.

Wandering While Black is an editorial documentary project born from the heat of the kitchen and the clarity of the lens. We move through the world with intention, documenting the quiet dignity of heritage.

This is a sacred act of return. We capture the pulse of the market and the ancestry in the spice, creating a visual archive for the traveler who seeks the profound depth of human connection.

The Lens

A quiet, cinematic witness to the dignity of living. We observe with technical precision to document the beauty of resilience and the geometry of the everyday.

Flavor

Through the eyes of a chef, travel is a culinary map. We seek the labor in the soil, the mastery in the kitchen, and the ancient stories found in the heat.

Meaning

Travel is a commitment to seeing oneself reflected in the world. We document the shared humanity that survives borders, policy, and time.

The Keeper of Evidence

A chef, voyager, and photographer mapping the geography of Black joy.

Wandering While Black is my lens on the world. As a chef, I look for the soul in the seasoning; as a photographer, I chase the light that honors our skin and our stories. I document these moments not just as travel, but as a cinematic return to ourselves. This is a record of frames and flavors, where every image is a memory and every meal is a radical act of belonging.

The Nuance of Belonging

Wandering While Black is an editorial exploration centered on the beauty, nuance, and profound sense of belonging within the Black travel experience. This is more than a journal; it is a commitment to authentic human connection, documented through the cinematic interplay of hospitality, labor, and the quiet dignity of seeing oneself reflected in the world.

CREATOR

THE CHEF'S PERSPECTIVE

Wandering While Black is my way of documenting what it means to be seen as a human being first. As a chef and photographer, I've been lucky to find a sense of belonging and kinship in corners of the world I never expected. These stories are about more than just skin color; they are about the moments where I was treated with simple, profound dignity. I move through these spaces with a camera and a palate, recording the warmth of the people who made me feel at home.
